Evening Primrose is commonly known as a womens oil, perfect for balancing hormones and relieving menstral pain.  Topically it is a great barrier restorative and anti-inflammatory oil making it a great fit for antiageing and restorative skin care.

Extraction method: Cold pressed

Common uses: Evening Primrose Oil is a very popular, refined, all purpose carrier oil. It is used by manufacturers (particularly as a conditioning agent in hair care products), aromatherapists, and massage therapists. Evening Primrose contains high levels of GLA essential fatty acids and is good for dry and mature skin. Small amounts are often added to other carrier oils for fortification.

Consistency: Typical and characteristic of carrier oils

Absorption: Absorbs into skin at average speed, slight oil feeling left on skin.

Heat Stability:  Low, best formulated at or below 40C

General Stability:  Due to the oil being largely unsaturated it is prone to oxidation over time.  Store in cool, dry conditions and avoid storing for long periods of time with a large headspace.  It may be best to decant 1/2 empty bottles into smaller vessles to reduce oxygen exposure.
